US flies two supersonic bombers joined by South Korean and Chinese air force jets over the North Korean peninsular after North Koreas second intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test in one month.
The US has , in a ten hour mission, flown two supersonic bombers over the North Korean peninsular demonstrating that it can employ, rapid, lethal and overwhelming force in retaliation if attacked. The US bombers were reportedly joined by South Korean and Chinese air force jets.
This came after North Korea launched its second intercontinental ballistic missile test in one month. The intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was said to have been airborne for a total of 47 minutes, over, a total distance of approximately 600 miles reaching an altitude of 3,724km (2,300 miles) and finally landing west of Japan’s Hokkaido island in a total of six minutes longer than the previous launch which was conducted on 4 July 2017.
According to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un this proves that any place in the USA mainland is now within reach, prompting retaliatory show of force by two USA supersonic bombers joined by South Korean and Chinese air force jets. The US president Donald Trump has warned that the ICBM tests is “only the latest reckless and dangerous action by the North Korean regime”;
The South Korean government has said it’s concerned that the North may have developed “a significant advancement in technology”.
